The Palm Pre will need to be able to do undetected tethering, otherwise forget it.

320x480 resolution HVGA display

I stopped looking at it when I read that. My main reason for wanting a diamond was the VGA display for remote desktop.

I'm liking the pre alot. do any of you guys if sprint will make you get the "simply everything plan" with it? That would be the only thing that keeps me from getting that phone since my plan is pretty nice

theyll never MAKE you pick simply everything, i know that was the thought behind the instinct, but fine print always read 39.99 plan or higher and a data package over 15 bucks..

Re: Sprint Users Is anyone Keeping their Diamond when the Palm Pre is released

I have no interest in it myself. First the screen size and resolution are deal breakers for me. Second, and just as important, is the OS. The idea of webOS sounds great on paper, but does anyone remember how bad the first generation w/ web only apps sucked? The phone was fine but with apple locking it down apps were only available web based. What if your getting a bad signal, or even in a location with poor coverage. I don't want the speed of my apps based on my data speed.

With SERO I'm paying $30 a month and I've been tethering for over a year with no extra charges using Windows Mobile registry tweaks. If I can't do that on the Pre I will never buy it.

I don't believe the programs actually depend on data connection. They are just written using web coding. I would be more worried about performance since it's not native to the hardware.
