Giving up on my TP -- Replacements?

I am coming up on my 30 day limit for returns and just cannot tolerate the TP. There is a lot to love about this device, but I am having an enormous problem that I cannot tolerate: Dropped calls. Before the TP I had a u740 and honestly dropped maybe two calls a year. I'm dropping two every day with the TP. Can't accept it. My wife's BB Curve will be rockin a strong signal and my TP will be sucking wind trying to get a stable voice connection much less a data pipe. This is in the South Carolina and North Carolina region.

So... I am wondering about a good alternative device that has a better radio? I would like to stay with a WinMo device. For all their faults there are too many good apps and useful functions with WinMo devices that I cannot find a substitute for on a BB.

The Saga and Omnia are both tempting. I like the hardware keyboard so the Saga has an appeal for me, but the Omnia looks like a better screen for video and web browsing.

I use my phone first and foremost as a phone and second as a web device (browsing on the device and tethering). Third is a video and mp3 player. Your input and advice is much appreciated.

If I were on Verizon, I would prefer the Omnia over their crippled version of the Pro. Have you read through the Omnia forum?

I'd go with the BB Storm.

:/ I'd say the Omnia beats that device in all categories. I almost considered moving over to the Omnia since it simply outperforms the TP but I can't go from VGA back to QVGA (and the keyboard is hard to toss away)

Wow. A quick consensus for the Omnia! Well, I may have to give up the hardware keyboard and check it out. I do love a hardware keyboard, but I guess I can go play with an Omnia soft keyboard for awhile and see how I fare with it. I don't have real large fingers, but I could not use the touchscreen keyboard on the TP, so I hope the Omnia one is better.

As for the screen resolution, that is a tough pill to swallow given how good The Matrix looked on my TP in coreplayer, but alas, I am sure it will still look a lot better than it did on my u740.

The whole BB line is kind of out of the running for me as it lacks the apps available for the WinMo devices and is not as tinkering-friendly.

I really appreciate folks giving me their input on this. I tried so hard to love the TP and made all kinds of excuses for its misbehavior while my wife just sighed and shook her head (she is a dedicated BB user). The dropped calls were just the breaking point for me.

Unless you are a dedicated BB user, the Storm is probably not the best alternative.

You didn't come from the Mogul, otherwise you'd be IN LOVE with the Touch Pro! I guess everything is relative, huh?
