Have a Touch - thinking about a Diamond..

I've had my touch for about 9 months now and I really like it, but sometimes I do wish it was quicker and that it had GPS that actually worked. Also having wifi would be pretty sweet every once in a while and I don't really care about expandable memory.

Anyone here that switched over from a touch care to share their experiences?

Re: Have a Touch - thinking about a Diamond..

Got my touch working perfect with tf2d. There's no reasons for me to get the Diamond. Boy, was I wrong on that. Only took me a few minute with a Diamond at sprint store and I made my mind.Diamond VGA screen makes QVGA screen on the touch look retarded. still got my touch but it hurts looking at it. I was concern about memory slot because I do flash my rom on every update but since flash doesnt clear up my internal storage, I'm not worry about it any more. I'm a happy Diamond owner now hope you'll be one too.
p.s, I didn't have any issue with GPS on the touch.

Re: Have a Touch - thinking about a Diamond..

ha well just ordered one, we'll see how I like it. The only thing I'm not jazzed about is the burgundy rear cover - but no biggie.

It will be great though to have wifi and GPS that actually works somewhat regularly - I only have success with the GPS on my touch like 1 out of 4 times. Insane that they're able to fit 640x480 screens into these things nowadays - I thought that the weather screens were just demos, but was floored when I found out the whole animation of the rain droplets and such are real..

I had a touch for 10 months and received the Diamond when it first came out and have not looked back at the Touch. The screen alone is worth it, also you the burgundy rear cover is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be you get use to it.

Re: Have a Touch - thinking about a Diamond..

You'll love the Touch Diamond. It's far better than the Touch. Although not sure why you couldn't get GPS working. My touch got GPS within 10 seconds typically, even inside the house!

Top Reasons why I like the Diamond More:
1. VGA Screen... It's stunning
2. TF3D >>>> TF2D, Plus it's much more finger friendly
3. Size, very comfortable to hold, small foot print, and "normal" shape, not the strange shape of the touch.
4. The standard keyboard is much nicer...

Top 3 reasons I don't like it:
1. Corners of the screen are not very sensitive.
2. D-Pad takes a long time to get used to, even then the top doesn't work well... ...
3. Burgundy... wtf were they thinking..

Re: Have a Touch - thinking about a Diamond..

I'm in the same boat as you, just ordered the diamond and coming from the touch. I was waiting for the pro but now that they postponed it I thought I'd give the diamond a try. I messed with the diamond at the sprint store a few days ago and like it a lot, just hope it will work out.

Re: Have a Touch - thinking about a Diamond..

I got my Diamond about a week ago. So far, very few issues. Its really solid. battery life is terrible tough. There is a battey cab floating around by Juicy that supposedly helps, but I flashed his ROM within 5 minutes b/c I read so much good stuff about it that i do not know how my battery life compares to stock.

One thing, apparently GPS is an issues on the Diamond. I can get a lock extremely fast but there is a lag by about a block that renders it almost useless if you need up to the second directions. Not sure if there is a fix or if HTC is working on one, but it is an issues.

Screen is beautiful. Really clear and nice.

D-pad is terrible. I still haven;y gotten ued to it and I have no idea why they designed it the way it is. Altohugh the touch scroll is kind of cool but i don't think I'll ue it too much.

Re: Have a Touch - thinking about a Diamond..

So mine was ordered yesterday afternoon and I was told it would be here Friday.

Just got an email saying that it's going to be delivered today. Can't complain too much about that one.

Hmm - I ordered mine yesterday morning too and haven't gotten a delivery confirmation yet... maybe you're closer to the distribution center or something.
