XV6800 Owner, Need to upgrade (touch or wait?)

I have been looking at Verizon's site and they are selling the XV6900 for 199 (2 year upgrade). Its time for me to upgrade, plus my titan is in bad shape (speaker detached, wireless stopped working a long time ago).

My question is what would you do ... go ahead an get a new XV6900 or wait for the diamond and or Touch Pro.

A huge part of this decision is the cost. I can get the vogue for 200 buck plus tax. IF the vogue dies on me, I am assuming the upgrade path would be the Touch Pro.

We all know how notoriously long it takes VZW to roll out new product, especially HTC product.

Should I just stay put until Christmas and maybe get a diamond or touch pro (not even sure if either are in production) OR should I get the Touch now ... and possible get a diamond or touch pro as a warranty exchange later own (actually how I got my titan)?

Well, in my opinion, the Touch Pro would easily be worth the wait and cost, but that's just me...

Best Buy in the Midwest has the Xv6900 on sale for $49 when you sign a 2 year contract with Verizon.

Re: XV6800 Owner, Need to upgrade (touch or wait?)

Ah the age old dlimna to wait or to not wait that is the question to be? Verizon wont give us a new phone until they absolutely have to. Even when they do they will hike the price to the max so your looking at a $500 phone for at least 6 months after they release it. I would go for the 6900 if your 6800 is crapped out. That will give you a few months of fun on a new phone while waiting for the newer phone. Or you can switch carriers something i contemplated when i went to the 6900 and will look at again if vzw keeps holding off on the new tech.

according to htc all cdma carriers list having the diamond but vzw is only planning on releasing a touch blackberry with some corny name like cherizilla or some crap.

Re: XV6800 Owner, Need to upgrade (touch or wait?)

Yeah this is a hard decision for you...

I would say,,, if I were in your shoes.. I wouldnt sign a contract to get the 6900 now while you wait for the touch pro,, because the money you save on the touch now,, will cost you even more for the pro because you will not be elligible for upgrade when it arrives,, I would get online and buy me a slightly used touch for a little more and do an esn swap through verizon and just wait to resign the contract till the pro gets here.. should save you a few bucks.. maybe
