I think the Instinct comes first this summer. And it is NOT a Windows Mobile phone (for some that is a good thing). But I would venture to say that most people who frequent PPCGeeks are awaiting the Diamond and Rafael which probably will come Fall, early winter. I doubt we'll see them this summer. They are the Mogul/Touch replacements (not the Instinct)

Sprint will be hyping the Instinct like crazy soon (if it hasn't started already). It is aimed almost directly at the iphone but I doubt it will "blow the iphone away" esp. with the new iphone coming out in the same time frame.

I dont think Sprint understands why the iphone is a success. Its the absolute fluidity and natural multitouch manipulation of it. Its not the touchscreen necessarily, or the form factor, or the color. I wouldnt buy an iphone from the total control apple is exherting in its SDK, but its UI is very impressive, the Instinct isnt. Even the TouchFLO 3D is impressive, but not as instant and responsive as the iphone UI.

sprint isnt making these phones, theyre just buying em. the iphone is a hard phone to compete with, and even harder to one up.

the reason why i havent bought an iphome is because it isnt compatible with winmo apps and doesnt have a keyboard to use.... this is a good thing to some people, but here at ppcGEEKS im sure most people wont go with a phone they cant tinker with to the fullest extent

this is why im waiting on the raphael, i want a phone that can everything my mogul can and than some. A better camera, higher res screen, and a thinner profile. Im also not sure why sprint is even releasing the instinct tho, i dont think it can even halfway compete with the iphone.

I really picked a bad time to buy a mogul, replacing phones every 2 months is not my thing...

Don't worry, the Mogul replacement won't be around in 2 months... maybe 5

And even when it comes out it will take a while before you'll be able to customize it like the Mogul.
