A year I would have said you're crazy. But since Sprint has had the worse data speed of any service for the past 6 months I say go ahead. At least you'll be able to use your phone the way it was meant to. Except that verizon likes to lock down their phones. But nothing that xda or other forums cant help you do. Enjoy the awesome lte speeds if you choose. I would get the nexus since its already rooted with wifi tether already available on it.
I'll decide if I'm leaving Sprint at the end of January. Maybe by then Sprint can get their act together.

Re: tethering with verizon

excellent. Does any one know if the tablet can be rooted to pick up the 4G network under the radar?

Any phone that can be rooted will run a version of wifi tether last time I checked. Especially htc phones now that htc has unlocked alot of their bootloaders.

Re: tethering with verizon

I am on Verizon tethering on a Droid Charge with no problem...All I had to do was just plugin a cable and flash a custom rom thats pre-rooted, install Android-Wifi-Tether and I am done. Easy as cake.

That said I heard a lot of people mention that they had issues with 4G LTE on all devices in some areas loosing connection, so I can't say how much it will effect your area or not.

Also I would consider buying an unlimited plan from someone if you tether..though your then restricted to buying phones on ebay but unlimited is worth it :/
