I'll probably be putting my EVO 3D up on Craigslist and getting the Samsung Galaxy SII. I like the Sense UI by I've tried 3 EVO 3Ds and they all have horrible call quality and drop calls in places my last 3 HTC WM phones on Sprint never dropped calls.

I took mines back after a week, I'm waiting for the SGII. I don't know why people wouldn't listen to the reviewers. Most of them told us not to get it because of call quality. Now people are stuck with the phone for 1 or 2 years smh. The photon is slower than the 3d and the 3d isn't THAT fast. Sense 3.0 is nice but they need a quad core to run that thing lag free, after I installed a bunch of apps it slowed down. Guess I'll give the SGII a try. Someone has to be able to make a lag free phone.

You also cannot root the Photon (yet), and may never be able to if Motorola gets its way. The Evo is world more flexible than the Photon in this aspect.

You can root the photon, you just gotta get the dock to root it lol

I would be happy if I could just complete a call without the call being dropped or someone saying "what did you say? Can you call me back from a land line?"

Besides, from the look of the Photon 4G forums with it's huge database of users (rolls eyes), this isn't even a fight. This is a pummeling of EPIC proportions. But to thier defense, I think all 5 owners are happy.

I'm extremely happy with my photon 4g. So the 5 of us have a phone that runs circles around the 3d with a slower processor and much better video.

I'm still debating. I'm on my third and this one seems to be much better than my other 2. No screen tilt, no dust under screen, no light leaks, and best of all it actually gets better reception. With the other 2, they would drop calls and go into roaming for no reason...even in the middle of Orlando, Florida! This new one I got, goes into roaming more often than my OG Evo but it doesn't drop calls and call quality seems ok.

What to do, what to do!!!???

Android 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 respectively do NOT have dual core support. Because of this limitation (at the moment) nothing can utilize them either and this includes sense 3.0 and any apps developed to take advantage of them. Until Google get's off its Goggles and adds dual core support to its OS, the second core is as worthless as skinny jeans on a man. But when this happenes, our phones will fly and then die (batt) like you've never seen BUT, there will always be lag due to our phones not being upto snuff on current ram technology.

Not true..as of gingerbread if an App has dual core support it can take advantage of it via SMP. Native Dual-core support comes in Honeycomb which will be ICS for phones..

As for the ram comment..as far as I am aware they all are using LP DDR2 which is faster then then the old LP DDR ram..

Plus some phones have one of these:
SAMSUNG Semiconductor - Products - Fusion Memory - OneDRAMâ„¢

(This is the secret behind the sgs smoothness and gpu performance)

Last I read, HTC uses DDR, not DDR II because the boards didn't support them. I will find the link and add it here. But if that's the case, they are bandwidth limited.

That's what I was thinking, that 2.3.3, 2.3.4 didn't have native support. I know that apps via smp can be mutithreaded but HTC hasn't included support in sense 3.0, much like they didn't include drivers for hardware graphics rendering for a bunch of thier phone lineup pre evo.

It is LP DDR2..but yes its slow and its single channel in the Evo 3D..the ram bandwidth in the photon and sgs2 is around 2x faster...
