Samsung's statement is they dont plan to add locked boot loaders unless Google requires them..If Google requires them even HTC commitment or not will be forced to add locked boot loaders.. Samsung has 0 reason to add locked bootloaders..and let me explain why...Samsung Electronics is a component manufacturer..thats their prime business(and part of Samsung Group that does a million other things)...They enter the consumer space to compliment their hardware business..their locked platform bet is Bada..thats where they try to make a locked down OS like the iphone...as far as Android is concerned..they don't care about locking it...unlike HTC they make most of their profits just by putting in their own components into products..hence why Samsung always beats the competition in hardware specs..its cheaper for them to build compared to others...and even at cheaper their profit margins are higher...not to mention Samsung can accomplish anything with their huge size. HTC does not have that hence their strategy is things like sense and investing in content like onlive..as I said earlier..they went as far as delaying a honeycomb tablet simply because Sense was not ready and didnt want to go in ASOP..what HTC does with sense is needed for them to survive in the market. Either way this isn't an HTC vs Samsung or etc..back in the day HTC was our only gateway..but now many players are entering into this space who are just as good and I hope some of the international oems enter the US market place as well.. Times change get with it...I am not telling you to dump HTC..I am telling you that we now have CHOICE and competitive choice...it has a long way to go but its there...

I can do a spec by spec comparison if you wish..its not that suprising.. considering HTC does not manufacture..so they will end up paying more for every single part that Samsung makes inhouse. Quote:
There are things HTC is first at..but most of the time there is someone out there that brings things to the table before them...its not shocking revelations... Quote:

"Galaxy S2 beats/matches evo3d in specs" You then immidiately start making excuses as to why the Galaxy S 2 does NOT actually meet or exceed the Evo 3D specs: "aside from 3d and qhd" And the rest of your post is a mix of false claims, and more excuses. This has been your M.O. throughout this thread. Clearly, the Galaxy S 2 does NOT "beats/matches evo3d in specs" when you stack them up side by side. Of course, if you start excluding certain features like a qhd screen, 3D cameras, and glasses free 3D display, and whatever other specs you want to exclude, then yeah, it probably stacks up. I gave facts to the matter..but if you want I can do a side by side comparison if you wish...I am not naive enough to think that the Galaxy S2 can possibly win in every single category possible...but it wins in more category that it looses... But as promised I will do a side by side for you: (I will only highight the differences..aka I wont waste space on same specs) Evo3d: Screen: 4.3" glasses free 3d screen qHD Super LCD Processor: 1.2ghz dual core Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon GPU: Adreno 220 ROM: 4gb Camera: 5 megapixel x2 with 3d support at 720p or 2mp still image LED: Dual FFC: 1.3 megapixels Weight: 170 g Battery: 1730 mAh wifi: b/g/n 2.4ghz only Thickness: 11.9 mm NFC: No? I cant find any info that says it has one..can you? Hardware encryption: no? Codecs: 4 audio, 5 video? Smartbench Productivity: 1898 Smartbench Gaming: 1642 SGS2 4'3"-4.5" WVGA Super AMOLED Plus Processor: 1.2ghz dual core Samsung Exynos, ARMv7 Dual-core GPU: MALI-400 x4 ROM: 16gb/32gb Camera: 8 Megapixel LED: Single FFC: 2 megapixels Weight: 116g Battery: 1650 mAh wifi: b/g/n 2.4ghz + 5ghz Thickness: 8.49 mm NFC: Yes Hardware encryption: Yes Codecs: 14 audio, 7 video Smartbench Productivity: 3732 Smartbench Gaming: 2431 Please note benchmarks are preliminary..and since they are loaded with Gingerbread my guess is Samsung had the optimization advantage. I will now look into device specific features..if I missed anything tell me. This is HARDWARE specs only..not including software features.. Last edited by gTen; 06-06-2011 at 09:58 PM. |

Re: Evo 4g/Evo 3D
No. I just remember seeing a benchmark test on video and the Galaxy S 2 had a better score even though it took longer to run the test. And that was against the Sensation- which the Evo 3D has more power than the Sensation.

To note though, Samsung limits the device to run at 60fps..so its possible that while the video finished processing faster it just displayed slower due to the limitations (as most benchmarks right now are easily maxed out over 60fps even with single cores)..hence why I want to see the video.. I'll try looking for it and then see what the author/comments on video say then give my own opinion on the matter.. It would help if you remebr if its Smartbench, Quadrant, nenomark, gl benchmark..anything come to mind? Last edited by gTen; 06-06-2011 at 10:28 PM. |

Also, you left out that the Evo 3D has an 8 gig micro SD card and expandable to 32. |
