Upgrade or wait?

Background:

I have sprint service, and am happy with it, plus my wife and I share a family plan. ( she has a moment)

I have a TP2, came from a Mogul before that.

I have mighty rom on the TP2, and other than the slight delay, and a lock up once in a blue moon I have been happy with it.

However, Sat, my 3 year old tossed my phone into the pool; when I turned my back.

I grabbed it out, took the batt out, and let it dry, it boots, and works, but I get random lockup's (1-3 times a day), and a couple key's on the keyboard do not work.

My Question:

Do I pay the down payment for a replacement TP2? I have insurance.

Or do I upgrade to a EVO, ( i fully qualify for a upgrade, paid cash for the TP2 )

Or do I want for the android 3.0 lineup of phones? any eta?

Reason I don't bring up WM7, is that I am tired of the OS lockup's.

Thanks a ton!

Re: Upgrade or wait?

It has been stated in the TP2 forums that Asurion is no longer offering the TP2 as a replacement, so that narrows down your choices.

I would have at least attempted to file through assurion as some people are reporting getting replacements and then selling it on ebay after you get the EVO. It would have a clean ESN and you weren't being fraudulent doing that either, and might have been able to help offset the cost of the EVO. Either way, good luck with the Evo!

Re: Upgrade or wait?

if you activate your tp2 on your wife's number....you gotta wait 14 days if i remember correctly and then file a claim with assurion.

Re: Upgrade or wait?

Don't know about Sprint, however with at&t Asurion WILL give you the Tilt II in exchange for the Tilt II.

but like I said, every company is different and it also depends on how much of a **** fit you throw on the phone. I for one, will always have it my way, lol.
