Re: How many switced from TP2 for EVO?
I left the line about the TP2 in my sig because it still holds true. I started with a Treo600... worked my way up to the EVO. I got my EVO from Sprint because I had to replace my TP2 under insurance, got a recon unit that wouldn't boot, another that wouldn't boot, one that rebooted on its own all the time and one that you had to take out the battery.. to put it on the charger because it would lock up... Before that I loved it.
The EVO is sweet though. Getting used to the lack of keyboard, with OMJ's ROM it rocks. I love android, I own a Moment as well. Just sold my moment, and god does it feel tiny compared to this! I just looked at my desk while typing this, and there is a still working original Treo650... I think I might activate it and play. |
Re: How many switced from TP2 for EVO?
I switched and have some regrets

Re: How many switced from TP2 for EVO?
I have not switched and will not.Unless you pay the same as you did with the tp2 it is not worth it.
Sure if you do not have to change plans but it would cost me 40$ a month more and it is a phone. It is not my computer it is a phone. So if you do NOT have to pay more fine but unless i was able to keep my plan forget it. |
Re: How many switced from TP2 for EVO?
Actually it is a computer and a phone. I rarely take my laptop out of the house these days because I use my phone for every day Internet use that doesn't require a full size screen like using Excel or something. It is actually better than a computer when you are riding on the train...just pull it out of the pocket and go....

Re: How many switced from TP2 for EVO?
After the Mogul, I was just tired of "customizing" my WinMo phones. Played some with the Vogue. It was interesting concept after the 6700/6800. The TP2 was/is a great device. I never had to reset, no crashes, no problems, but I also never switched outta the stock rom or installed any other apps. I was the hold me over from the TP (poor phone) until something better than the Moment/Hero came out.
I throughly enjoy my EVO without regrets. I still have my TP2 for international use. |
Re: How many switced from TP2 for EVO?
I made the switch and will never look back specs wise. Initially I switched for the Evo over TP2, but not for Android over Winmo. I think Winmo would have been great on the Evo, but Im extremely happy with Android.
If there was a Winmo port, I would probably try it lol...Winmo did everthing I needed: ms office, navigation, internet, tethering, music/video playback. Android does everything as well and being finger friendly is a huge plus. |

Re: How many switced from TP2 for EVO?
I made the switch. Dumping SERO (Never thought I would say that) and don't regret anything about it. This phone is amazing. I picked up my TP2 the other day and I was thinking to myself how tiny the screen was, lol. Coming from Palm Treos for 5 years and WinMo for about 1 year, it feels strange to have a phone you don't have to pull the battery out to reset all the time. It is also nice to be on a platform that developers are targeting for their new apps.

Re: How many switced from TP2 for EVO?
I switched and I love it. I tried different roms on tp2 and at some point they all started to slow the phone down. WM is nice but outdated. I like Evo a lot and i dont have to wait to load camera :) which i really hated with my tp2. I would never switch to iphone couse i think it is for retards. Android seems like has a good future. MS gave up on wm and their updates are no updates. Evo feel nice and looks nice. I also kept my TP2 only couse it is a world phone which I need when i travel to Europe. So the bottom line is Im happy with my new Evo.
