Keylock/Keyguard stopped working?
 

My wife's treo pro all of a sudden lost its keyguard. It is enabled in Settings, but when she presses the home/red button, nothing happens. But the button works fine. Its like it is turned off, but I swear, its enabled. I did a soft resent, changed the keyguard timing settings, etc. Nothing. Has anyone else seen this? My last resort is a backup and reset, but I was hoping maybe i can tweak the registry to fix something that somehow got changed.

Any thoughts would be awesome.

i wouls back up what is important. then reset it. if that doesnt fix the problem. im sure you have insurance. just take it back. i doubt any registry settings or changes will fix it.

WAIT.....

I saw a fix for this.....

realign the screen.

Realign screen worked for me too! I found the forum because of this problem. At first, the alignment screen wouldn't respond to a tap on the cross-hairs, but I hit the top power button to turn the screen off, then the center palm button, and when I did, the screen lock was on! I finished aligning the screen and all is well.

My keyguard also suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. And the screen realign trick worked for me too! Cannot imagine how it relates to the keyguard but thank you lowspeed for answering the post above.

My Treo Pro (Sprint) started having this issue 2 months or so ago. The screen align is not helping. In my case the stop button locks it briefly for 1-second only then w/o any action it unlocks by itself. In that brief second it displays usual "press center key to unlock" message.

lowspeed, dakotao and others: do you just do screen realign once and that's it ? I tried power off/on and soft reset thereafter but of no avail. I wonder if this is some active program's doing ? but not sure which ones it can be.

Can anyone help please! My lock slider won't slide anymore on my sprint treo Pro?!! Also.. It seems that my screen is not responding, no matter where I touch, nothing happens??!!! Please help!

screen mite b goin out, mine did. if u've dun the hard reset and stuff already, revert to stock and relock and have it looked at by sprint tech support

Thanks for your -always valuable- input Skee. Now, I never had to re-flash to the original Sprint Rom (6.1??) after I upgraded my treo to WM 6.5 (about 5 different roms!!). I know I probably could find my way to locate the original rom on this site but could you please direct me to the steps to accomplish the reflashing from 6.5 to 6.1? Thanks again!

I tried soft reset (button) and pulled the battery also... didn't work.
I just tried it and it worked too. I had to really press hard to get the screen align to work (oddly, didn't have to for anything else)... just pressed ok and voila.

Thank you, now that my screen locks again I can quit butt dialing everyone
