Treo Pro ringer quits working

I work at a repair center for a Sprint retailer, and I have seen at least 10 different Treo Pros come back with the ringer not working. It's a software issue, as a hard reset fixes the problem. I figured I'd post it on here to see if any of you more educated users might have any input. I have a Treo Pro and haven't had any of those issues, but it's obviously a problem.Thanks

From what I've seen, the issue arises when adding software that uses profiles (Spb Phonesuite, Spb Mobile Shell, etc.). For some reason it fubars the ringer. One "quick" fix is to go into your settings and change a ringtone and play it. That seems to fix it, temporarily.

I've hard reset and not reinstalled any third party today screen/profile software. I may be wrong, but I haven't had any issues since I took those items off.

ive been trying to figure this out for the damn longest time.
My ringer does not work after putting on HTC Home.

Try closing HTC Home, adjust your ringer, and go back into Home. I THINK that as long as you don't make volume adjustments while running Home you should be ok.

Try it. It can't hurt.

When I was trying out SPB MS3 I noticed that the ringer volume would randomly go down to the minimum for the normal profile. Re-setting it would temporarily turn it back up, but it would always eventually go back to zero. I have since uninstalled MS3 as it's not much more than a pretty turd.

this is a known issue for the Treo Pro, I advised supervisor to make Sprint aware of it. Hope they do something quick for you guys with one.

Honestly, if one of you guys could find a hack for this, it would be faster than waiting on Sprint.

I work for Sprint also. This is a known issue with the Pro. Have informed whoever needed to be informed. We are waiting to see if Palm develops a fix for this. The only way to correct it is hard reset.

I have not had the problem reoccur ever since uninstalling SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 and doing a hard reset. Not sure if Mobile Shell had anything to do with it or not, but there are a lot of people at the SPB forum with Treo Pros that are having the same problem and they believe Mobile Shell is the culprit.
