I would post the instructions but it consists of various federal offenses you will commit by doing so (and would probably violate the forum's rules?).
I will tell you though that if you do still wish to purse this method you can find the information on a forum by searching google for what you intend to do, specifically.
PM me if you have any questions.

Sounds like an ESN swap? It's not really worth the hassle...

So then it not really possible to get the Treo Pro on Verizon? I don't care for data much, but the rest of phone yes.

I would say yes. I've wasted too much of my time trying that, so I figure I'll carry two phones... ](*,)

Damn it I really want this phone as I like palm, and like the feature, over old 700w and the Samsung I have right now.

Re: Treo Pro on Verizon

Just to be clear" YES it is fully possible to use the Treo Pro on Verizon without HardSpl/Unlocker/etc. It DOES NOT require an ESN swap, and is MUCH simpler to do than an ESN swap. However, there is chance the procedure will not work (very small chance). If it fails, an ESN swap would be required but is honestly not very difficult in the case of the Treo Pro. Once again, the steps required to do so are HIGHLY illegal and violate a few federal laws.

Cloning? IMO, not really a solution...

No, I'd rather keep my illegal actives to something more common, like ripping a friends cd to my computer.

Re: Treo Pro on Verizon

I recently received an authentic Treo Pro from Verizon. You can actually purchase the device directly from them, and it works beautifully.

The process is tricky [but not unethical or illegal], and I'm happy to explain it to anyone who'd like to buy the device.

The VZW Treo Pro is interesting, because it carries no Verizon branding. In fact, it has no carrier branding at all.

Please elaborate. :)

Re: Treo Pro on Verizon

It's actually quite simple.

Step 1. Get access to a Verizon Wireless Business Account (as opposed to a personal account).

If you already have a business account, you're a step ahead.

Step 2. Call the Verizon Wireless Business Sales line - (800) 899-4249.

Step 3. Ask to buy a Palm Treo Pro. If the rep insists that the device doesn't exist, or isn't for sale, insist that they look it up. When they find it, they'll be happy to sell it to you - for $399 with a 2 year contract, or $599 without a contract.

Important thing to note: not every business sales representative has heard of this phone, or sold it, so it can sometimes take a couple minutes to convince them that it exists. However, once they find it in their system, they will sell it to you.

Also - consumer sales representatives will deny the phone's existence, but even if they don't, they cannot sell it to you. It's not worth the fight, they simply do not have access to the device.

Good luck out there, and happy hunting!

Re: Treo Pro on Verizon

Hmm, so since they have their own version of the Treo Pro, they should technically let the Alltel guys with Treo Pro's on, right? I think it's still a stretch for me with my Sprint Treo Pro though...

Re: Treo Pro on Verizon

Not sure - but if anyone needs a dump of the stock Verizon ROM from my unit, I can provide it.

I've got my treo pro on verizon...I was a legacy alltel customer and had it during the switch. the only thing that allows me to have it is the alltel plan that i'm still on, as the system does not allow ANY alltel phone on a verizon plan.

Re: Treo Pro on Verizon

What are the legal problems with changing the ESN/MEID on the phone itself?

It sounds like a MAC address on a network card and I've had an ISP that controlled access to their network by the MAC address. Many NAT routers and network cards let you set the MAC address and that's how I was able to change from router to router back when I was with that ISP (cable ISP - Charter Communications). It was just so much easier than calling tech support and having them enter a new MAC address into their system. Changing the MAC was just another option in the settings of the routers. No weird/hacky software or anything.

I've just started struggling to get a Sprint Treo Pro activated on the Verizon network and am looking for options.
