Guide to Install TouchFLO 2D on the Treo Pro

This is a Guide to Install TouchFLO 2D (Manila) on the Treo Pro

Example Theme: Diamond Blue

1. It is recommended to perform a Hard reset before we begin. Just to start with a clean slate and avoid any possible conflict with programs already installed on your pro

2. Install Real VGA (Thanks Ebag)
3.Install McCune_RealVGA_DialFix_v3 (Thanks McCune)

4.Install Manila 2D (Thanks koolcdj69)
5. Download & unzip Xml Files For HTC Camera.zip (Thanks koolcdj69)
  • a. Install the cab inside
  • b. Paste the xml files inside the Windows folder on your pro (Via Activesync)
6. Install/Change Themes
  • a. Download & unzip “Manila2d Treo Pro Themes.zip” (18 different themes, I forgot where I got this from, so I don’t know who to thank)
  • b. Copy files onto treo pro
  • c. In the programs folder open M2DC
  • d. press add, find the themes, Add the one you want, press ok
  • e. Look on the bottom, you will see Themes, Fonts, …Tabs ..etc. This is where you customize your home screen. Also, where you direct your internet program (i.e opera).
  • f. press apply theme
7. Download and unzip HTCHomeSettings.zip (Thanks again koolcdj69!!)
  • a. paste the HtcHomeSettings.XML file into your windows folder on your pro
  • b. Go back into M2DC and reapply theme
8. Install ArielBattery 2.1 (Thanks sunny127)
  • a. This is a readable battery icon. Tap the icon, then press the tools softkey, go to setup. Here you can move the position of the battery over your original battery. You can also change the colors to give it an OEM look.

I also want to thank brianlp518 for making the comprehensive list, it made this much easier.

Enjoy!

-------------
Update 8/16/09
Thanks to koolcdj69 and his hard work, he made a new HTCHomeSetting.xml file, this now allows you to have fully working TouchFLO 2D in 128dpi. So now RealVGA is not necessary if you want to use 128dpi.

Also if you want some "Luxury" apps, take a look at koolcdj69's thread over at treocentral.com

Re: Guide to Install TouchFLO 2D on the Treo Pro

im impressed with this, though im having a few minor issues. first, with the use of RealVGA, ive lost my task manager drop down in the top right corner. second, when i move between screens with the slider, the right half of the screen sticks and still displays the previous section i was in. this can be temporarily fixed by pressing up or down, but only fixes it until i move to another screen.

ive tried using this in the original 128DPI and it works great except the softkey bar at the bottom gets in the way. i would prefer to use this resolution if we could find a way to eliminate or maybe reduce the size of the bottom bar.

oh, and is there a way to edit the cities for the weather? there r no cities listed newhere near me.

Overall great job *presses thanks button*

Try this: Install the Alabaster theme. Soft reset. Then go back to M2DC and install the theme you want. That should fix the right side of the theme sticking.

Im not sure why your task manager doesnt work, maybe you didnt install a file? or maybe not in the correct order?.... Mine works fine and i applied this theme to 2 other treo pro's and their task managers work too

Also, I dont know of any way to reduce or eliminate the softkey bar. Plus i use the softkeys often, so i really didnt want to eliminate it.. maybe reducing is an optional, but im no programmer. For the weather cities, i dont think there is any way to add a city that isnt already in the list, but i could be wrong..

Re: Guide to Install TouchFLO 2D on the Treo Pro

I am having the same problem with the right 1/4 of the screen "sticking". I tried this fix. It doesn't fix the sticking. No matter what I do I can't get rid of it.
