I had the following online chat with Ebenizer at Palm Tech Support on 12/3/09 regarding the Palm Treo Pro:

9:42 PM Tom Theisen: I will keep checking the website, and pass my thanks on to Palm's mgt for doing the right thing

have we ever seen an update in a palm phone ! (well except webOS)

It will never happen for Sprint I can assure you.

However, why does it really matter if they create one or not? We already have the Treo Pro running 6.5 and I use it everyday with no problems.

Yes Palm has released WM upgrades in the past.

1)The OP said palm tech support, then you said sprint rep? Which was it?2) Not to insult anyone who works at sprint but... sprint lies all the time. And how would the web chat rep know that they are going to do the update? If they really knew, they would probably have a date. Chances are that they were told by a supervisor to just tell you yes OR they lied to you because it is easier and there is 0% liability on that rep if the update never comes out. And I'm with Mackie, who cares if they release it? It would probably be worse than what we have now anyways.Thanks for your post though.

Sorry, it was Palm tech support, not Sprint, and he knew I was talking about the Sprint Treo Pro.

I wonder what the Palm Win 6.5 update process will check for on your Treo Pro before letting you upgrade. eg. What happens if it checks for the original SPL and you have replaced it with the HSPL in order to run your own cooked ROMs?
