Re: spy picture of the cdma treo pro
Throw WM on the PRE and that is my next device, it really does look sweet, but with a unique OS, it won't nearly as flexible as WM is now. In time maybe, but not many OS's make it 'big time' and last.
As for the PRO vs. the 800w, the main physical differences is that the screen is flush like the iPhone, no more raised edges like other Treos. They also went back to the stronger metal stylus in deference to the swiss-army-knife-toothpick-stylus in the 800w. The biggest down-side to the PRO vs the 800w is access to the memory card it is on the side of the 800w and you need to remove the battery cover to get to it on the PRO!!! Overall though if I were with Sprint, and hadn't picked-up the 800w yet, I would probably wait for the PRO!! |

Re: spy picture of the cdma treo pro
Why would you want to ruin the device by putting Windows Mobile on it? Now don't get me wrong, I've been using WM for 3-4 years now and prefer it over everything thats out now. But the Pre was not built to run WM. Windows Mobile needs a huge over hall in UI design to be easy to use as a touch device. Thats one of the biggest things the Pre has going for it.

Re: spy picture of the cdma treo pro
theres good points to both sides. the pre is designed for this new os, so whatever advantages winmo might have in 3rd party compatibility is offest after some time when the new webos is matured.
that said, im a windows mobile guy. all my home pc's are windows, i like to have seamless interplay between all my devices. i wont be buying a pre just for this reason, otherwise it looks like a great phone. |
