Disappearing Battery Status

It's really ANNOYING, but my battery status will disappear every so often & be replaced by a speaker icon that doesn't even appear in the 800w user guide. Anyone know how I can replace the battery icon back on without having to soft reset each time? I'm on my second 800w & the first one did this also.

What programs do you have installed on your Treo?

Magic Button

I know it's not Magic Button because I didn't have that on my first 800w & the battery icon disappeared twice on there.

Try removing Magic Button I think that is what is causing your problem.

It's not Magic Button because my 800 does it too and I don't have magic button. My touch did it too. I'm not sure what does it, I just soft reset which i was told you should do with WM every so often anyways.

Re: Disappearing Battery Status

a co-worker of mine had that going on and she hadn't done the new update for it yet, i did the update for her as she should not have this much power in a phone and it worked as soon as it booted back up. if you haven't done the new update i would try that and it worked for her phone. http://www.palm.com/us/support/mobil...s/800wusb.html

The update has nothing to do with fixing the disappearing battery icon, in your case it was just co-incidental. I had it happen to me for the first time yesterday (and have had the USB update since it first came out.) I had installed the Sprite Backup upgrade and then un-installed it last night. This morning I noticed the battery icon was replaced with the speaker icon.

Removing & re-installing the battery fixed the problem for me.
