I now have it working 100 % using Memmaid to tidy up a little option. If you look at your startup options POUTLOOK.exe is one of them, I have removed this and in its place have put a shortcut to messaging.exe found in the windows directory (NOTE NOT THE messagingapp.exe!!!) My startup now reads

Sddaemon.ink
elatepushervice.ink
Shortcut to mesaging.exe.ink
Shortcut to WisBarAdv2.exe.ink

I have WisBar Advance 2 set to ignore Messaging app

It now all works fine.

The Reg folder for SMS is still created but is ignored as Poutlook does not open first and grab the priorty. My emails work with Poutlook, my texts with Treo Messenger and my MMS too!!

Yay at last

I have just installed the exact same setup on another problematic VARIO II and it again is working fine!! Looks like I may have solved it.

I am still concerned about the SMS reg folder still being there, and I have noticed on a couple of soft resets there has been a respawn of the MMS1 reg folder. The TREO MESSENGER has still taken priorty though.
(Strangley though there is still the ability to send texts using Poutlook and the inbox is still there)

I have been PMing VJ about these concerns and he seems to be interested and has hinted he could write a fix???

MODS..... Any chance you can make a poll on here to find out who is having problems with the SMS reg folder re-appearing and POUTLOOK taking over?

Lastly can I have a HEAR HEAR and a few kind words for VJ to edge him on into looking into this for us??

Cheers all!

Just an update, Hannip over at TC and XDA is working on a beta 2 and figuring lots out. fantastic_mr_q, you might be helpful talking to him as he is really spearheading this operation.

He's found that webview.dll is what fixes the chat delay in the outbox. the problem is that is also causes issues breaks the mail send and auto contact lookup in Outlook.

His latest fixes are going to be these:

Fixes:
- It reduces the size in half
- Eliminates open errors
- No longer needs to remain loaded after the initial load at startup

Todo:
- Fix Mail send and auto lookup
- Fix MMS out of memory error
- Fix Contacts to use Palm app for sms send
- Remove requirement to load at startup
- Fix Add Media audio recording

Hannip is very much looking at the other side of this in the fact of getting it to work on the Treo. Im still a firm believer that once Treo upgrade they're AKU all the problems will fizzle away. I am more concerned in the Respawn of Registry Files and if I can get this fixxed I will be more than happy to share these findings with everyone. VJ has now said he will look into a reg fix for me and I will be donating to his cause for this as he doesnt even use the Palm Messenger. I have this working on a fair few WM5 devices now (OK they are all T-Mobile Variants but thats what all my friends and colleuges have) I will keep everyone posted and could possibly do with someone showwing me how to pack everything together into an installable cab as I am very much just experimenting at the moment.

When people are mentioning the email issue does this wipe out the email account altogether so that it is not displayed or simply not allow it to send emails?

Malatesta 10-28-2006 09:28 PM

It's done!

Guys, IT'S DONE!!! :headbang:

- Full integration: contacts --> send text to, contact auto look up, etc

- Send in chat fixed

- SMS box deleted in Outlook

- No errors

- Very little space (you replace your system files, overwriting) < 2mb

- No MMS (yet)

Seriosly, this is it. Thanks to Hannip and Blend! :thumbleft:

http://rapidshare.com/files/1095740/...beta3.zip.html

See 1st post for file or use Rapidshare.

You need to install the .cab file, then copy ALL files in \Program Files\Palm Messaging to \Windows. Use Resco Explorer or TotalCommander to overwrite SYSTEM files!

MAKE SURE "Show Hidden System Files" is checked! There should be 10+ files to copy to \windows!

Read .txt in zip for more info.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

Thank you Hannip, Mal, and everyone else who worked their hearts out to make this successful! :P

Wow, working great on my 700wx! Now, I only copied the 13 rom files with total comm. and it still is now working great. I never did the "show all" to ad all the other files. I still have my messaging key mapped to my email/old mms hack (which is how I wanted) and I just use the today screen pluggin for the new sms. Everything sends find. No more delay, all is well. Great job guys.

PS. All the other files that were included with the 12 rom files I added, are they nessasary for me to install or should I just leave it alone. lol

WOW! It is working much better! Thanks!
A couple of things:

1. still getting the OOM message for MMS.

2. Testing by sending text's to my self. The outgoing text's in the thread have the correct and current timestamp. When the messages come back to me they are timestamped 3 hours earlier! Is this because the server they bounce through is in a different timezone?

I have no idea! Keep them handy for a few days and see what happens.

When finished (for everyone) YOU CAN DELETE THE PALM MESSAGING FOLDER!!!

Yup, MMS is NOT Fixed yet. You can still use the Arcsoft pic-mail hack (see thread on topic).

Not sure. We'll see if others have that issue or maybe it's a DST thing.
