smstrigger as mala stated at first appeared to work but i was mistaken. and yea it has 2 reg edits that go along with it but it just doesnt work. :(

akijikan 10-19-2006 04:26 PM

Mal - It took care of those errors for me as well, glad it has some usefulness!

what are the regedits? UseVodafoneVoicemail and IsGSM?

takmsdsm 10-19-2006 04:38 PM

I figured out SMS to email messaging for sprint

go to options, go to advance, go to manual, hit edit

under Email center number, put "6245"

hit ok, hit ok, and you are done :)

lol...ahhh.

now if we can just fix

1) the sending issue when in a threaded convo e.g. the delay in the outbox

2) Sprint's SMS problems

3) My issue with Verichat sucking now since the SMS relay from them goes to my old inbox instead of waking the program

4) MMS issues (though I don't use it personally)

5) The program closing when Up or Left arrow in a threaded convo

we'd be all set. lol

takmsdsm 10-19-2006 05:00 PM

yeah, since i know very lil actual programming stuff, most of my time is going to be towards the MMS right now.

what sprint SMS problems??

Wideawake 10-19-2006 05:04 PM

most of my times going towards getting this working also....worked most of the night last night even tho I was at work. :) and ajikian (I hope I spelled right :lol: ) the reg entires are....

actually, if you ever sent yourself a SMS from a webased system (like Sprintusers homepage), the ID is 6245, which is so obvious now.

takmsdsm 10-19-2006 05:12 PM

From XDA site, more message center numbers!:

Quote:

SMS MessageCenter

* AT&T:
o +19078319301
* Cingular:
o +12099042010 (West Coast)
o +17045020600 (East Coast)
* T-Mobile:
o +12063130004
* Rogers Wireless (Canada):
o +17057969300
* Fido (Microcell - Canada):
o +15149931123

Make sure you include the + symbol if manually entering this number. It is essential.

This number is usually pre-set in your SIM card and should not have to be manually entered.

SMS Email Center

* AT&T:
o 0000000000 (ten zeros)
* Cingular:
o 121 (West Coast)
o 111 (East Coast)
* T-Mobile:
o 500
* Rogers Wireless:

yeah, that was my first guess at what it would be.

that sucks about the 700wx, mine is waiting for me at home, it got delivered today, it will be cool to have the 6700 and 700wx.

Wideawake 10-19-2006 05:17 PM

well I didnt know this man! :P and we didnt know it as of last night huh?!? :toothy10: @ Mala

takmsdsm 10-19-2006 05:19 PM

wideawake, what will those reg edits do?

Wideawake 10-19-2006 05:24 PM

lets call them reg entries but anyway thats what makes the smstrigger.exe work properly. I worked up a cab with all that in it.

but what does SMStrigger do exactly?

people who have had problems with gwes and device.exe errors are just dropping the .exe file into \windows, fixing their problems. So what do these reg entries fix in the program?

hey I have no clue...I just tried to have a look at it with ResHacker and it wouldnt give me any kind of info. So Im not sure. And surely those reg entries are there for something ehh? Im not a Pro Im just a novice shot maybe would even go as low a n00b to the programming/hacking/developing world. But Im learning very quickly. :D

slypher 10-19-2006 08:58 PM

i have been following the sms thread app and i'm a bit confused. I know why 6700 users are excited, i used to have a treo 650 and miss the threaded sms. I cant figure out why 700w and 700wx users are excited about this app, don't these phones already come with threaded sms. Is this version better? Just curious.

-s

Wideawake 10-19-2006 09:34 PM

nall I dont think the 700w or wx comes with threaded sms.

Pibe38 10-20-2006 01:35 AM

Nope, that's the hype... we were promised (by Palm's advertising) threaded SMS on the wx (I have copies of the old PDF data sheets showing it), but Palm did not deliver. It was the huge amount of users calling and e-mailing them that made them finally change the date sheet and website description as it still showed the wx with threaded SMS.

I doubt the SMS issues us related to the wx, it was working before. I can vouch for it as one of my best friends has T-Mobile and we had no isses during the first days I had purchased my phone. Funny thing is, international SMS is working almost instantly...

I looked all over the ppc and couldn't find this 'options' to enter the center number. Do I need to install the attached .cab for this feature to come up? Thanks.

Wideawake 10-20-2006 07:27 AM

yea for the threaded sms if u haven't installed then install the .cab and then go to menu/options/advanced and enter it there along with sprints mms server addy in the first couple posts.
~mike

ps make sure u have room for one more icon on the start menu.

wingzero 10-20-2006 07:43 AM

I don't understand. You haven't said what these entries actually do. Do they fix the delayed send issue? Or are you simply posting them because you found them on the rom?
Can you confirm they do anything?
Thanks for your hard work.

Kinda Lost

:D I've read through the thread I am kinda lost lol. Is there a new download for the .cab for this file? Or do I have to make all the new edits manually? Thanks in advance!

Malatesta 10-20-2006 12:12 PM

Mike/Wideawake,

Someone needs to get the actual registry and export just those changes listed above so we can just import them ourselves.

there are significant changes between the two devices in this regard, which is not good when trying to isolate differences in behavior.

Ask and you shall receive, this is the reg file from a treo 750 user.

That would be great, because I really don't know where to start. Not to mention, I don't like messing with the registry if I don't have to. Thanks in advance!

not sure yet, i will do a hard reset and install the palm sms and see if i can still function. I don't think it will do serious harm, but i don't want to chance it...lol. The biggest thing that i notice in this treo 750 registry thats not in my 6700's registry is the references to the sms trigger.exe app. I think this is the key to having the chat function correctly. I'm just such a noob at this ppc thing that i am not that much help. But i'll do what i can :P

Hate to burst your bubble, but it's not. I added smsTrigger + the registry references and it doesn't help the chat delay...I am using a 700wx but no reason to think it would be different on your 6700.

I have heard that there have been different results on the 700wx and the 6700. Can't hurt too much to give it a try! I would, but alas I have conference calls the rest of the afternoon and need my 6700 for them...

LOL, its not that big of a deal. i use spb backup to backup my entire phone. it will restore from a back up image in about 5 mins. so i can trash it, and get right back to normal in no time!

i can't figure out how to import the reg file either. akijikan how did you import the reg? thanks.

EDIT: figured it out, have to use Resco Explorer 2005
