Sending MMS without having a DATA plan on VZW.
ISSUE: I live in a area that doesn't have EVDO service and the 1x network in piss poor. So I had the DATA plan shut off on my Treo 700wx. But now I can not send or receive MMS messages on my phone and I pay a monthly service fee to have unlimited SMS & MMS messages. VZW has told me that the only way I can get MMS is to have the DATA service turned back on. But I would be paying for the KB usage along with the monthy service fee to get the MMS.
I installed the massaging app based of the guide provided by codyppc on the Treo Central website and I noticed that there is an option to attach pics, sounds, etc. to the SMS messages. Question: Is it possible that this massaging app would be able to help me send and receive MMS on my phone with out the DATA plan turned on? It is vary hard for me to belive VZW when they tell me that I can not send MMS with out having the DATA plan turned on. Almost all their phones now have internet browsers and they are able to block data content but allow the phone to send and receive MMS. Why not the TREO??? Any insight that anyone has would help so much. Thank you, Joe |

So I've read the first 6 pages and have yet to find this... hopefully someone knows the answer real quick
![]() I ran the One Time .cab install. It looks like it worked fine, I have the MMS tab and the NEW PIX Message. BUT... when I click the new pix it brings up the OLD style Text Message? There is no picture box in the middle etc... I can do a screen shot if someone tells me how ![]() Ive had this installed before and it worked the first time like a charm. What am I missing? |
