Definately, it has to stay updated. I have it set to update every hour and do fine...

What kills the battery life with WP, in my experience, is when it's pulling radar maps/traffic camera pictures. If you don't need the nice cool moving map option, have that only update every 2-3 hours (I'm pretty sure that's a separate setting, but I do not recall... I've since stopped using WP). I've found that phonealarm can suck more juice as well.

Actually the Treo Alert thread should be in this forum because is specifically for our device.

On another note, Spb just released some competition for PA.

It's called Phone Suite. I don't personally like it, see this thread on the software forum for more info...

spb just release the phonesuite: http://spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/phonesuite/?en

It is almost a mirro image of PA. The good part is that it can integrate with their mobile shell or pocket plus to become a tab, which really save a lot of space on Treo screen. I downloaded the trial and it seems works fine. I also downloaded the trial for their weather and got it working with the weather.com. Again may not be as fancy as WP, but it save much space as a tab. :P

Oh forgot the phonesuite has photo dialer and it can be retracted as an icon or expand with a single tap, which is way cool and again save space vs the the one that comes with treo.

Uhmm that's kinda what I just posted above... about Spb Phone Suite... oh well.

Be sure to try it out and read all the comments. The cons for me are that it is not skinnable, it takes 2.5 MB opposed to PA that takes less than 0.5 MB, and there was something else I can't remember...

But it's all on the link I posted above.
