treo freezes when fully charged

Has anyone experiece this issue? Generally I just got a 2200 mAh battery off ebay. With this new battery the treo freezes when it hits 100% charge and I can't soft reset the phone. The only way to get out of it is to take the battery out and put it back in. Once I do that it seems everything is fine. any one have any idea what's going on? the original battery is fine.

I know it's probably the new battery but I'm hoping someone can tell me a work-around that will keep it from freezing on the new battery.
