i dunno either way ur screen gets locked.. i just know option+end works for me... but i did find another great feature in the keyguard the lock screen on call! i always hit the mute button with my cheek and was using PA auto blanking but no more!!! yay!

Maybe I'm missing something...With the 6700, it uses the WM5 builtin Device Lock which you need to press the power button and then tap the screen before you unlock it. The Palm KeyGuard works the same way except you just press the center hardware button instead of tapping the screen. Basically the same amount of clicks.

someone answered the question already but basically. the difference is that when you just hit the end button it only tursn off the device. if the green button or red button get pressed while in the pocket it turns the device back on. I wanted a way to lock the keys so that I would have to hit the on button plus a second button to deactiavte the lock. this is what the 6700 did. and now someoen has shown me how to lock this one. thank you.

thank you i am not the only one. i have the lock on, hit the red button turns off the phone and locks in, hit the red button screen comes on, hit the center button and good to go....

for all that dont have the keylock when hittin the end button, go into settings>keyguard and set it to how you like it. its that simple. if you have set for:when power is turned off, does just what it says. when. the rest of em are self explanitory!

Now what's the difference between the option and end button function versus just hitting the end button?

I use the option and end button when I'm on a call w/my BT headset and want to put the phone in my pocket. That way the phone is locked while I'm talking. If I need to use the phone during this time, I just hit the End button and I have total functionality again.

Other than that, hitting the End button works like a charm for me. Easy on, easy off.

I think you guys are a bit confused. By default some treos have the keyguard enabled and some don't. If it's enabled the phone is locked as soon as you turn off the device (the way it should be). If this doesn't happen you need to turn it on from the settings screen as mentioned above. The option + lock key locks the screen without turning off the device...in case you are listening to music for instance.

Does that make more sense?

Same here the only time the PPC stays on is after a phone call weird but I guess thats the way its supposed to work. When I take a call and I am using my bluetooth I will lock the 700wx and put it back in my case but after the call has ended I take the PPC out of the case and turn it off. Any one having a different experience with this
