I'm trying out webmessenger that I found on http://www.treocentral.com .
1 gripe so far is for aol, for instance, can only have 1 screen name signed on at 1 time, where Verichat allowed multiple screen names to be signed on at the same time. there is a subscription fee, of course. but it isn't a killer, 21.95 if I remember correctly. there is also a 5.95 monthly charge if u prefer. and there is also a 15 day trial period. |

Subscription based? I don't know about others, but I don't see them doing well with this method. Was Verichat subscription based, or 1-time purchase? I don't IM much, so MSN Messenger works fine for me on PPC's.

Verichat was a subscription because the program used it's own server that stayed logged on to the various IM servers and used SMS as alerts and IMs. So the plus was Verichat didn't stay connected all the time, and the downside being if you didn't have an unlimited SMS plan, you'd get hammered.
