micro USB cable

Hi all. I'm wondering if anyone can confirm that the Pre uses a "standard" micro USB cable such that I could buy a couple generic spares to use for charge and sync?

The reason I ask is because I have one micro cord which doesn't work properly, it will charge the phone but not allow me to put it in sync or mass storage mode.

If yours do work to sync, can you recommend where to purchase? I've also heard the USB Mini > Micro converters might do the trick as well, again anyone tried to use these to sync? I have a bunch of mini cables so this could work for me as well. Thanks!
