Re: Flash files for WebOS 2.1 and Sprint Navigation

hey showmrock, what you need to do is go back to the Palm Pre section and read the topic titled: WebOS 2.0.1 for Sprint... what ya gotta do at the moment is use the stupid meta-doctor process and what you'll end up with at the end of it all, is a snappy Palm Pre 1 phone with a frankenbuild of 2.1 without the beloved Sprint Navigation I went thru this entire process of trying to get the latest 2.1 and I ended up going back to 1.4.5 just to keep my phone rock solid cuz in my profession being late is not tolerated. So ya... you can go thru all the steps you want to try and get 2.1, but my advice is to just wait til something better and easier comes along.. I want 2.1 and Sprint Nav in 1 nice package!! lets wait and see what happens..

Re: Flash files for WebOS 2.1 and Sprint Navigation

Open up the .jar for 2.0.1 file in 7zip, then open up the sprint.tar file. Extract the Sprint Navigation ipk file. Then drop that on your fresh meta doctor'd 2.1 media usb drive. Then open up terminal on your 2.1 pre and type "ipkg install /media/internal/the_filename_of_package.ipk"

Go banners and enjoy.

Note; You cannot install the sprint carrier files via preware or webos quick install so I have been told. So I didn't try it. If your going to try it, try with preware. But I did the above and I have sprint nav on my 2.1 sprint pre.

Re: Flash files for WebOS 2.1 and Sprint Navigation

Here is what you requested
you can use meta-doctor and add the updated ipk to the wr-castle-plus.tar file! I would imagine you can install after use webos-doctor... put some of the files are outdated. Your head these are the Sprint Apps for WebOS 2.0

Download sprint.tar for free on Filesonic.com

Re: Flash files for WebOS 2.1 and Sprint Navigation

just to confirm, Phelps post (webosdoctorsprint-2.1.0.jar) is the wosinternals metadoctor with navigation added in from the leaked 2.01?
Ive been holding off updating to 2.1 because of the lack of navigation, and profile issues but it looks like the latest meta scripts enable activation, and navigation can be achieved via the ipk from 2.01 which I guess I can build myself... but if webosdoctorsprint-2.1.0.jar is the correct file to use I'd rather just use something verified.

thanks,
