Adrynalyne's CC20 6.1 ROMs v. 1.7 Build 21051

1 Attachment(s)
Hello. This is my cooked Windows Mobile 6.1 rom, built upon the beta CC20 image for the Verizon i910. It does not work with any other i910 than the one sold by Verizon.

This rom is clean, mean, and lean. It is designed for long battery life, stability, speed, and customizability.

My faithful 6.1 followers, I have not forsaken you! So many chefs have abandoned 6.1, but I am still here. Enjoy!

How to Flash (stolen from blazingwolf:twisted:)

Use UMDL and click on the PDA button. Browse to the location where you placed the bin file and click on open. The file will load. Once it is loaded click on Detect. Now turn your device off by holding the power button until you see the shutdown gif. Once your device is shutdown plug it in to your pc. No turn your device back on by pressing and holding the power button. UMDL should detect your device and start loading the new ROM on to your device.

Enjoy!

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

I think I will take the plunge this weekend, I love the stripped down base ROMs you're making. Thanks so much for all your effort and accomodation of requests from people. :)

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

Hey Adrynlyne, I am still on your V.2 ROM and the only thing I have been having an issue with latley is when I connect to data the phone vibrates and beeps, then it continues to beep every couple of seconds while I am still connected to the internet.... Do you have any idea whats up with this? i dont know if its the ROM or something I have on the phone... Please advise, Thanks.

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

can you please post the red m2d theme as for i deleted thanks in advance love your rom fast smooth didnt even notice mms so no biggie

Adrynalyne 04-24-2009 02:03 PM

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

I can't say that I have seen that issue. Check your sounds and notifications and see whats up with the settings for connection established, etc.

36chambers 04-24-2009 02:11 PM

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

I went under the sounds and notifications and when i set a certain event to something it changes everything to do that funtion( example: ring/vibrate). So when I changed the connection established to none, that made the phone do the samething which isnt good cuz i need to hear it ring... I dunno its got me kinda stumped, any suggestions?

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

Just upped to .9 and I must say it performs marvelously. In SPB3, I can spin the contact carousel like I'm playing Wheel of Fortune and it's smooth as can be. Can't wait for you to break out the RC. I appreciate all the work you have put into this, because let's face it, if we all wanted cookie cutter phones with basically no possibility for customizing, we'd all be using one of Verizon's dumbphones with their proprietary UI on it. If you have any point where you need a crash test dummy, let me know. I haven't had an insurance claim in a while and I am in the process of filling the pool for the year. I wonder if an Omnia brick sinks like the rest do?

Adrynalyne 04-24-2009 02:13 PM

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

That could have to do with lack of ringtones, I deleted a lot of them. Try adding some.

The later roms do not have this issue.

36chambers 04-24-2009 02:13 PM

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

I looked at a little more and it doesnt change everything, it just seems that the connection established and the Phone: incoming call are linked together somehow and when you change one it changes the other to do the same

syrguy1969 04-24-2009 02:17 PM

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

Something I have been wondering for a bit....the zoomer app that is removed...as far as I know that is the app that allows us to 'zoom' in on a web page. If I am correct, then I am curious as to how people with this file removed deal with viewing a web site on Opera that is way to small to read or navigate with fingers without enlarginf the view?

(I know.....curiosity will get me someday LOL)

Adrynalyne 04-24-2009 02:27 PM

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

No, that deals with the zoom in app on the today screen, messaging and email.

36chambers 04-24-2009 02:33 PM

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

Do you think there is any cab out there that could correct this problem (under sound notifications the Phone:Incoming call, and connection established are linked together and display Ring type: and Ring tone:, which the connection established shouldnt be like that). I would hate to have to start from scratch to get this fixed because other than that this ROM is flawless and this beeping noise when im connected to the internet is absolutley annoying, thanks for the help.

Sorry for the stupid question but what is UMDL ?

Adrynalyne 04-24-2009 02:34 PM

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

I wish I had an answer for you. I don't know, as I cannot reproduce the issue.

Have you tried backing up and doing a hard reset, to verify the issue is with the rom?

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

I used it, but not willingly.

I know someone wanted it back in, but its not that easy. The stupid program validates itself due to hardware or something. The i900 version does not work, as it is not allowed to run, or some silly message like that.

36chambers 04-24-2009 02:38 PM

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

no what should i use to back up, and will it back up all my programs and all too. I have never had to do this so any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

Check out Resco in my signature. Its what I use, and I swear by it.

syrguy1969 04-24-2009 02:41 PM

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

The two biggies (and best AFAIK) are SPB and RESCO. I use SPB + swear by it, and I know Adrynalyne is the same way with RESCO. Between the two though, you have a solid win-win choice!!

edit: LOL....I guess Adrynalyne DOES swear by it like I said!!!!

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

cool guys thanks, i appreciate the help. Is there any special instruction on getting this to work or is it pretty self explanatory?

ROFL!

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

Resco is pretty self explanatory. Set the backup for what you want, compression level, stop apps when backing up (reccomended), and where to back it up.

SPB is pretty easy if I recall too.

They are both pretty user-friendly, my only 'special instruction' is to backup occasionally, keep it handy, and always before a reg entry or major tweak!!!!

Well....for one...options are always a good thing, and I guess that only proves that if you need info, your more than likely to get it here @ PPCGeeks!!!!

P.S. I also know Adrynalyne knows his stuff, so your definetly not being lead in the wrong direction with his help in things!!

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

Oh I know, I dont really post all that often but I definately follow this site a lot and both of you have offered a ton of info and programs that have made having a WINMO phone the absolute best. I wish I had more to offer to the community other than my babble of words when im looking for help, but i do truely appreciate your efforts. Overall I think its a program causing this problem for me so I think I am going to re-flash the V.2 ROM and start adding programs one by one and see what did me in. I think its the Diamond TV app or coreplayer because those are the last things I added and then I noticed the problems.

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

Im surprised at how much I have picked up on just by reading this forum. There is so much info on here and I have been tweaking since I had a mogul, but the omnia is just so much fun, I cant stop adjusting things. Maybe thats why I ran into my problem, I dont know when to quit but I guess thats the fun of having this type of phone.

You can't delete it, its in rom. While I can post it, its best to HR, or you will lose several MB of space copying the theme back upon itself.

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

I must have done something right. 0.9 has more downloads in a few hours than 0.8 has had in a few days.

:)

bompus 04-24-2009 03:36 PM

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

It also was mentioned over on another popular forum in a poll, so you probably got some decent traffic from that. That being said, it is much faster than the other ROM I tried and has less issues. My phone did completely freeze , no lights, power button force off wouldn't work, had to remove and reinsert battery, but I am not blaming it on the ROM yet :)

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

I did the resco backup, then fired up UMDL, selected the PDA -> FlashROM.bin, it copied in ~3-4mins (report "Job Done. Launched!" and then shut down and went to battery charging screen. I fired it up and it's hung on the Onia progressbar logo. Any ideas?

Thanks!

You didn't flash to beta rom first?

Re: Adrynalyne's Base ROM

It was in the FAQ :p

You can still flash with the beta rom.
