Re: First Cooked i910 Rom!

so i successfully flashed to the leaked rom using UMDL_Omnia_V2.3.exe, but I want to upload this New one with out the bloatware. The leaked rom was an .img and after extracting this new one it is a .bin .

the program wants an .img file.

what am i missing?

New to the whole flashing Rom thing.

TIA

Re: First Cooked i910 Rom!

when you bring up the UMDL scrol down to where it says pda and click that which will open the browser... then locate the bin file and flash like the first rom from there

Instructions:

Extract rar to UDML directory.
Open UMDL
Click PDA
FlashOS.bin will show up.
Flash as normal. You are only flashing the PDA part of the ROM, so you can easily go back.

You should be able to flash back to the original PDA img with UDML v2.3. Load the .img, uncheck eboot and CSC, and this will put you back to the Original CC20 rom.

Please let me know of any problems you have with the rom, and I will try to fix them over the weekend.

I probably should create a page or something somewhere, since I'm not flashing in the traditional way. Once we have an official ROM, that should come with an updater EXE, which will be better for cookers. For now, it's kind of a work around.

Re: First Cooked i910 Rom!

What's the different with cook in M2D vs install it from cab. Is it more stable?

Re: First Cooked i910 Rom!

Not really, it should be the same either way. It's just a large file to install, so it's easier to cook it in.

The only real main difference is that when it's cooked, it's probably customized a little bit more, and have been debugged/tested a little more.

Re: First Cooked i910 Rom!

For anyone who likes renaming things, the UDML program, for whatever reason, looks for FLASH*.bin (had to use IDA on the program to figure that out). So as long as the OS.bin starts with the word flash, and ends in .bin, you will see it.

Re: First Cooked i910 Rom!

I noticed that you mentioned this in the updates:

Flash lite 2.1 -> 3.1

Does the original leaked ROM from the other day already have 3.1? If not, I will definitely be tempted to use this cooked one...

Edit: Also, how did you get Java on there? I thought we could only use Jblend or something like that. Sorry for all the questions, but Im interested in those two things but want to stick with the orignal leaked rom because I dont want to lose alot of the extras that you took out (I know I am in the minority with that lol)

Re: First Cooked i910 Rom!

Pretty sure cooking Flash Lite 3.1 into this rom is redundant. I can't think of any other way that Opera is able to view youtube other than fl 3.1.
