Sprint has simply lost their minds.

At the same point, do you think the Touch Pro 2 in any way would have stemmed the bleeding for Sprint?

Windows Mobile devices are niche products and not mass market, so materially this does not affect them as much as a bungled Pre/Hero launch. I hope Sprint does wisely with their Hero rollout and does not handicap themselves by inhibiting the adoption of what looks like the first decent Android phone.

This is Sprint's shot to get in Android game with a compelling phone.

$450.00 out of pocket commitment for the Touch Pro 2 is offensive.

This is so true, but seeing that Android is such a new OS I hope that sprint don't think that is a luxury item for their customers.

As for the TP2. if people are not buying them because of their prices, they will have to lower them just like every other handset that they sell. Besides WM is buggy.

For the price, it better the the perfect phone!

it didn't happen with telus but then again telus touch pro 2 was actually affordable as well
it is really strange that sprint is charging this large price for a 2 year contract and not outright

Currently, only T-Mobile offers Android. However, their most expensive android phone is the MyTouch 3G, which goes for $200, with 2 yr contract. The G1 is going for $150 w/2 year contract. The Pre is their flagship phone, and that is going for $200, with contract. I would expect Sprint to be in line with t-mobile's MyTouch pricing for the hero (crosses fingers). The InstinctQ could be a very different story, however.

Ouch. $350 for nearly 2 year old hardware with a bigger screen?

I think I've posted this before, but I have seen the Sprint Palm Pre for $99 with two year contract through best buy and EVP before.
