Touch Pro2 has FM RADIO ENABLED
Here is some fantastic news... The HTC Touch Pro2 does indeed have the FM Radio chipset.. And here is the good part... It is enabled and works great! You just need to download the application to work it.. Details at XDA... Great editorial on how HTC is a Monopoly here...

Re: Touch Pro2 has FM RADIO ENABLED
They SHOULD want it to work... less people hogging PV bandwidth streaming just music... HTC should put in a ATSC/DTV tuner also waste of precious backhaul and spectrum just to get a little entertainment...
Indeed I'm POSITIVE that if Sprint/HTC marketed a phone that had an integral DTV tuner, it would sell like !!!! Never underestimate the American need for the boobtoob... and American Idol... Last edited by monkeyboy; 06-02-2009 at 05:59 PM. |

Re: Touch Pro2 has FM RADIO ENABLED
Why wouldn't the CDMA TP2 have the FM radio enabled. Even the Omnia has an FM radio. Would be a little stupid to disable it in a superior device.

Which isn't to say that HTC doesn't engage in *any* market manipulation... surely just about all companies do... |

Re: Touch Pro2 has FM RADIO ENABLED
There could be lots of reasons there was no FM radio in the CDMA versions. Maybe there was an FCC issue, maybe the carriers requested it, maybe the FM chip didn't work well in US spec.
Anyway, until we have a Sprint Pro2 in our hands we won't know for sure. (Since I don't listen to music on the phone anyway it doesn't matter to me.) |
