[CLOSED AGAIN] WinMo AppStore Open for Business (Marketplace)? Did I miss the memo?
 

[UPDATE] I guess it was a mistake by MS or they were testing it because I can no longer access it. I am using a customized version of Calc's WinMo 6.5 build 21501 ROM from his kitchen. I think it is located in the SYS and not the OEM. The original Marketplace icon was a .lnk shortcut to Marketplace.exe in my Windows folder. The CABs (installation and programs) do not have the option to save just install. I searched to find them in some sort of temp folder with no luck. When I had it installed, I clicked on it and it would just say Marketplace could not connect to the server. I did a hard reset, clicked on the icon and it is again redirecting me to the website saying that it is coming soon. Well hopefully it is coming soon.

If you are like me, than you have been playing with WinMo 6.5 beta roms and have seen the Marketplace Icon. I have opened it numerous times and never paid attention to it because it always said "Coming Soon" or something of the sorts. Today I clicked on it and it said CAB needed to be installed. After install, voila! Marketplace open for business. I already downloaded Pandora successfully. There are not too many fun apps yet and most of them come with a charge. But the layout of the store was very finger friendly and very snappy. If I just missed the memo, please close and disregard the post. Sorry I tried to search and have found other posts of the Marketplace, but none stating that it opened. Can someone with a 6.5 ROM and the Marketplace icon please confirm or deny this?

Cool! Can you upload the cab? I'm running a 6.5 rom with marketplace removed and would love to see it in action.

Yeah I'm using Juicy 7 and he doesn't have the Marketplace icon on my programs list. Where within the Windows folder would we be able to find it?

i havent seen a cab file, or an OEM for that matter, but if you can find the OEM file, you can use no2Chems package installer

Thats weird, i have a touch pro with stock roms and radio, and i just went to market place on my PC and on my cell phone and all market place shows is 4 games

restart your phone and try again if it works be sure to SAVE the cab file to you phone and don't just run it. If that works you should upload the cab file.

i have to be doing something wrong......like i said before i have a touch pro with stock roms and radio, with windows 6.1, some how i ws able to install the digital locker on my pc. but know i cant figure out how to even find it and install it on my phone

No there are several chefs beginning to build Windows Phone 6.5 ROMs. Juicy, Mighty Mike, Merdin, etc. (apologies in advance in leaving any one out).

You have to flash a ROM with 6.5 in it. Available here and xda-developers.

Sorry for the delay. I think it was just a mistake by MS or they were testing it because it is closed again. The CABs don't save, they were just auto installing. I was hard resetting my phone to see if I could find the actual marketplace CAB in a temp folder somewhere. Sorry no go. The orignial icon from the ROM I was using was a .lnk shortcut to Marketplace.exe. I am using a modified version of Calc's WinMo 6.5 build 21501 ROM. I think the Marketplace.exe is located in the SYS and not the OEM.

When I had the CAB installed it said the Marketplace could not connect to the server.

I hard resetted, clicked on the icon again and now I am again being redirected to the website saying Coming Soon.

Is the version of Pandora you got better than what's currently out there? Would it work better for the Touch Pro?

Sorry I hard resetted my phone because I was trying to get the CAB install of the marketplace.

Here is the .exe files if you all want it. Unzip .lnk file to Windows/Start Menu/Programs. Unzip the rest to Windows. I am not sure if you need any corresponding Reg Entries though.
