It does sync contacts. But I think its only one way. Like if you update the contact on your hotmail account, i dont think its updated on your pda. But I do know for a fact if you update or add a contact on your pda, it is updated on your hotmail account.

Does seven beta work by activesync? Since its in beta, do you think they'll eventually charge as well when it comes out of beta?

If you go to the page that used to offer the free service it redirects you to a new one where they offer you a 60 day trial. :(

I've recently switched to a windows live domain hosted via hotmail with push to my phone. I have my own custom domain (ex mydomain.com) and started using that as my personal email address (ex me@mydomain.com). Since it's a hotmail passport as well, I can use that same email address for messenger, xbox live, msdn, hotmail.com, etc. I sync my email and contacts with outlook (via outlook connector), my touch pro (via windows live for windows mobile) and hotmail.com. For my calender I'm using google sync to sync my phone's calender with google's server, then google calender sync app to sync it with outlook. The result is everything in sync with one email address/signon for me to remember and use forever. No more switching email addresses to and from ISPs, etc.

Hopefully it doesn't if so that would suck. It's really good at pushing email.

No, Seven doesn't work via Activesync, it works OTA, just like real push email. I use it for my Gmail account. One thing I really like about it is that emails read on your TP show up as being read at your original provider and vice-versa, not instantly but within a few minutes. What's amazing is that Seven Beta is even faster notifying me than my Gmail Notifier application. I would REALLY hate it if they started charging for it, though I honestly would consider paying for it if the price was reasonable.

Seven has always been a paid service (http://www.seven.com/howtoget.united_states.html), but they keep the beta version free.

FYI seven send 1 international SMS with every email you register, if im not mistaking int SMS are like $0.30ea but lots of people cry about it.

I use it and my emails hit almost instantly... same with my contacts.
