I showed up to the argument late...

but this ruling does not allow "evesdropping" on calls nor warrant-less wiretaps.

This just says police can now access the cell tower information and GPS information inside the phone to get your location.
This is something police departments already do, with a warrant. This just elimiates the need for a warrant.

I'm on the "good" side, so to speak (hence the username) but Amber Alert stuff and manhunts for murders will hopefully get a little better.

Also, the court points out, people DO NOT have to carry cell phones, so therefore, it's not making anyone be available to be located.
