Wow! Multi-Touch Resistive Screen Demoed at MWC
This is just too cool. Unlimited point multi-touch, pressure sensitivity, sub-pixel accuracy...at one point he paints on the screen with a paintbrush!
Check it out at Engadget. I can't wait for this to make it to production devices. Here are some blurry screenshots of the videos in the link: ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by bedoig; 02-19-2009 at 02:03 PM. |

thats pretty sick but what actual need would we have for more than 2 finger control on a ppc, im not trying to hate but this would be better suited for a computer ( Microsofts Surface interface)

Wow this is like stylus+tablet but 50 times better, combines the multi touch with the accuracy of a resistive screen, amazing. I wonder how soon it'll be when we have working touch screens on flexible polymer OLED displays.

they have it and its pretty cool...for instance when you go to look at your photos instead of seeing them in a list or as tumbnails you see them spread out on the computer screen and you can move them and rotate them and resize them on the screen it was awesome... ![]() ![]() |

![]() Granted multi-touch is only useful to a point, but it would still be nice to have for those rare occasions. The real interest here is the ability of this technology to match or beat a capacitive screen's sensitivity. Accuracy and sensitivity...best of both worlds. And they say that it's mostly a software implementation, although they do also mention that they have worked with screen manufacturers to make certain modifications to the hardware. |

its probably iphone hardware posing as something new.
![]() okay, someone had to say it but anyways, thats pretty friggin hardcore. i like how it recognizes in true detail a brush stroke versus a finger stroke because of the resistance.. were talking real painting here, thats friggin amazing. Last edited by Torx; 02-19-2009 at 02:38 PM. |
