Re: Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 announced by HTC

Alltel has been pretty good at following up sprint with various PPC's however 90% of Alltel is now verizon not counting the divested markets. Maybe mycircle isn't the only influence Alltel will have a verizon. They may get newer phones a litter quicker now.

Re: Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 announced by HTC

I think I like the Touch Pro better than Touch Pro 2 honestly. Touch Pro 2 doesn't even look like much of an upgrade compared to the Sprint Touch Pro I have now. Same amount of RAM, ROM, same megapixel camera, still has hardware keyboard, etc...

Don't think TP2 will be much of an upgrade for the Sprint TP owners honestly.

depends on what you use it for. The idea that I can carry around my movies and watch them on a wide screen is appealing. Plus, the HDMI output is REALLY appealing. It's just a better looking phone and with more landscape, you'll be able to see more when web browsing or emailing.

I think when they come to sprint (if) I'll sell my touch pro for like 250 or something. Hell, I sold my Instinct for 250, I'm sure I can get some decent dough for this TP lol.

Sprint does not trash the phones. Sprint will ADD things to the phones like there own software and increased battery live. That is why I'm still holding out hope that the Sprint Diamond 2 will have the 3.5mm jack.

Now, Verizon is the carrier that will take things out of phones!!

Which everybody here will immediately eliminate from the custom ROM's because it is nothing but bloatware that slows the phone down & is basically useless........(that's why the TouchPro cleanup program says "Sprint edition")

Re: Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 announced by HTC

Does the TP2 have a Capacitive touch-screen (like the upcoming Pre' , Iphone, G1) ? Or is it the same "resistant" screen that has been included in ALL WM smartphones to date?

So take this one with a huge grain of salt, though if squint hard enough, it almost makes sense.
Over at phonedog, they got a tip that "...Sprint would be beating T-Mo to the punch by launching US versions of the devices at CTIA in April with May availability dates."
To some that may sound very early, in fact it might even beat T-Mobile in Europe, who are reportedly getting some new HTC love in June.
But we do know that Sprint has given the "end of life" (EOL) tag to the Touch Diamond for July and looking at Sprint's past practices, a device's EOL date is usually around 2 months after the launch of its replacement (e.g. Treo Pro (orig: 2/09)/800w EOL (4/09); Diamond (9/0/Touch EOL (~11/0; Touch Pro (11/0/Mogul EOL (~1/09) etc.). Coupled with the fact that Sprint did get the original Touch, Diamond and Touch Pro pretty darn quick and you know, it could be possible.
So perhaps there's some truth to this? Guess we'll find out more from booth N120 as CTIA approaches!
hmmm i wounder if it could be
