Windows Mobile out sold the iPhone in Q4 2008

I agree with Kinya, not really a fair comparison. WM phones are sold by many providers and comes in a variety of platforms. iPhone is 1 phone and only sold by 1 provider (in the US).

(For the record, I'm not a iPhone fan just don't think it's a apples to apples comparison)

I have to disagree....I look at it from an OS stand point. Windows mobile is an OS. Just because they have more phones that support that OS doesn't mean it's not a fair comparison. If the Iphone was that much better than Windows Mobile then people would do what was necessary to get one. I know if i really wanted an iphone i would jump ship and go to AT&T. But since the iphone is's a better device i stay put. Don't make excuses for apple. They only sold 400,000 less phones in a quarter so don't act like it's not possible for them to sell more then microsoft. It's very possible but people are starting to fall off of there band wagon.
