Picture Mail Problems

I was wondering why its so hard to send pictures with this diamond touch phone. I can send to other sprint users, but no pictures get sent to other providers. Is there a fix for this problem, or a software that will make it easier? With my centro you could send it right in the text, but with this phone you have to use picture mail??????
