So will the Russian version of this phone work in Baltimore? WiMAX is WiMAX and from what I understand, the frequencies are the same worldwide.

Even if it does, it wouldn't have the necessary radio to run on a CDMA network like Sprint for voice calls. Still, it is quadband and so would work on Tmobile or Att. Even so, Sprint might not be willing to activate it on the wimax network for 1) the phone would require FCC pass 2)Provisioning tools might not be available to activate a windows mobile device on the network. It would be nice to check what i'm saying against what a sprint technician will say.

From what I've seen, its performing about 2-4 indoors and 5-6 outdoors.

Also, speeds are up to 70Mbps, not 40... but you have to literally be right next to the tower to even hope to achieve that.
U search google and find out urself.

Re: Htc t8290 with wimax!!!!!

oooppps.sorry guys, I jumped into conclusion right away. T8290 is not coming to us shores because a russian company just order this made for their russian wimax to test. Skartel just paid a a million bucks for the device to be made. So no sprint for this phone.
