Re: Google Phone- Start Saving your Money!

There is no "The Android" or "Google Phone".

Google is building an OS called Android that will run on a variety of devices. One of the first ones planned for release is made by HTC and at least codenamed "Dream". Here is a demo of this Google OS here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PRfVKzuUJ4

That's a nice one because it shows some neat features that are planned for release with the OS.

There is also a grainy video that came out recently that shows what looks like a white version of this demo unit. Word is that it is not nearly a production unit.

The picture at the top of this page is just an old rendering of what a "Google Phone" might look like and it has zero basis in fact.

Check out Android Guys (http://androidguys.com/) for more up-to-date info.

Re: Google Phone- Start Saving your Money!

Android runs not half bad (well, the bits that run, anyway) on the Kaiser/Tilt.

They should hit the end of year mark, and it will likely be available for several HTC platforms (as ROM updates, maybe?)

I don't think it will be a rom update. From WM? I don't think so.

You never know. It's possible, for sure.
