better solution, don't buy a phone that doesn't do what you like out of the box. If it works out of the box they have to support it, hacks never last forever. Kindov like free stuff, too good to be true? most of the time.

I guess that is why I am not mad about the pic mail thing. I knew when I got my phone that It didnt do MMS. Its not the first "top of the line" type phone that has not had MMS. Tmobile sidekicks did not have it for the first three generations I think they do now on the LX and Slide but I am not even sure about that.

Its a pain and it seems like it should be easy enough to fix for sprint but IMO the positives far outway the negatives with my Mogul.

It is prob on their it would be nice list, right behind gps and rev A. look for all three about 6 months after they discontinue the device and have had a replacement out with the capability for at least a year! :)

it is a windows ppc issue, palm os launched with the ability to send mms without needing a hack if i remember right. thus it was not blocked.

Abuse? You really wanna go there? I may not have been a Sprint customer for long, but I think NINE YEARS of being a customer means something. I've had the same number since day one. I've always paid my bill and ever had my phone "accidentally" turned off. I've also paid my insurance for all of those nine years and not once filed claim. I've steered at least 8-12 people from other companies because I have had nothing bad to say about Sprint and even praised their service. Especially when I go out of town to different areas. When no one else has a signal, I have all of my bars. I've upgraded my plan over the years and have upgraded my phone over the years. I've gotten the free month of service here and there so I never really complained much. So excuse me for being upset that they would block something they have nothing to do with. But honestly, I think it's bigger than that. The WM phones are the only ones that are blocked. The Palm OS phones are not. Same phone, same provider, different operating system. I wouldn't doubt if Microsoft had something to do with it. It's all about getting paid. Everyone that put this on their phone knew that they couldn't call sprint for support on it. But I, like so many others, are paying for it on monthly Vision Plan because they misled us. Yeah, our "plan" includes PictureMail, but your phone doesn't provide it (which is the part they didn't tell us). I'm the type of person that keeps my phone for as long as it's usefull to me. Years ago I thought it was a waste to buy a camera phone. Then I later bought one. Years ago I thought it was a waste to send text messages, I just recently upgraded to unlimited texts. Years ago, what in the world would I do with a phone that allowed me to get on the internet? Now I wouldn't know what to do without it. My daughter lives out of state and she would love it when I would send her goofy pictures of myself or of anything around me because we can't be together. Now that's gone because although we're paying Sprint for something they don't provide, they blocked our avenue provided by someone else because they aren't making money off of it. But they are. Does that make sense? I've ranted enough. I'll see if my phone is missing tomorrow.

Re: Sprint Denies PPC customers from sending picmail

I never said that you were the one providing the abuse. It is customers like you that get screwed because some punk decided it would be cool to send 800 pictures of extremely pointless crap. I am like you, I think it is dumb, but no one can argue that it is their fault or what they did was wrong. Palm phones have MMS built into their os, no hack needed. Look at BlackBerry phones. Just as pricey, more market share. Can they send MMS on sprint? No. It is a problem with smart phones. You were told this when you bought the phone. I'm sorry that you can no longer send pics to your daughter the easy way, if she is the only one you send them to how hard is it to add her as an email address direct to her picmail email. You know the carrier she is on. I don't mean to sound heartless but it is hard to sit and listen to people complain about something that is purely their fault. It is kindov like the lady that sued McDonalds because she spilt hot coffee in her lap and got burned. Did you think it was luke warm? I don't get it. Don't think I don't agree but it is no ones fault than our own for buying a phone that doesn't have the capability of sending them one click instead of three.

I just received a text from Sprint telling me that my picture mail account was about to expire. It gave me a link that went to a blank page.

Of course since I have a ppc6700, I don't HAVE a picture mail account. Is this their way of telling me that pic mail for WinMo devices is over?
