I love this site!!!

I just ended my family plan and got both of my phones on the $30 plans.

I spoke with a very friendly lady named "Angela" which helped me out.

She said, "You have been with sprint since 2007, why would you cancel your service over such a reason?"

I said, "Honestly, I would just like to transfer to the sero plan but I can't do that with my current contract that I renewed 2 months ago. This is a great oppertunity to get a plan that I really want, so I called".

Everything went great from there. :headbang::headbang::headbang:

thanx for the reply, i just checked it out and it does effect me. my contract goes up 45 cents each month and they said i have until the end of the month to opt out of my contract. they offered me 5% off my bill to stay with sprint and i told them i would think it over, doesnt really seem like a very good incentive. its like 4 bucks a month :-\

not that i really plan on quitting, but i thought they would give me something better than that lol.

Did CS transfer you to retentions? You could call 10x & get 10 different responses. I would try again, this time when you get CS, just tell them you want to cancel, they will transfer you to retentions. Go through the motions like you're going to cancel. They WILL offer better, that's retentions job. There are many things they can offer.....bonus minutes, SERO, better plan, cheaper power vision, handset upgrades....etc.

This sort of thing comes along rarely and one should jump on it if they desire another carrier. A common one that most people wait for is text message rates increasing, for that is a sure fire way to skip out on your ETF. Stable companies, unlike the current Sprint, do not let this happen but maybe once in two years.

If you have knowledge of the backend of the industry then you can always get out of contract but for the consumers this is a golden ticket.

I was on the 69.99 700 minute plan plus $5 per month on 2 lines for 300 text messages. I called and told them I wanted to cancel due to the increase in fees and I was offered (on the second attempt) the 1000 minute shared plan with free unlimited internet and unlimited test messaging, all for $50 a month. Just dial *2, when the automated thing comes on, say "cancel" and it should bypass customer care and take you straight to retentions.

I told a friend about this and he called to get the same plan and the person he got told him "It's only 40 cent". Don't let them pull this, any increase is an adverse change and gives you the right to cancel your contract. Plus how much is .40 per line per month multiplied by the 12 or 13 million subscribers?

Even if you don't want to cancel, it gives you a way to negotiate for some better deals.

Could someone help me out as to what exactly the SERO plans are and what they consist of ??

Also do you really need to know a Sprint employee to qualify ???

*edit* I see some people saying they were not successfull on their 1st try to either cancel or negotiate a new deal, so what exactly did you do or say when they didnt want to give you what you were looking for ??? Did you just hangup or what?

Also how much longer does everyone have to do this ???

I was successful in convincing them that I can cancel without an ETF on both calls. The reason that I failed to get what I wanted is because the first guy didn't want to give me the sero plan.

When you call, say "cancel" and it will bypass everything and transfer you to an operator.
I think that you have up until the end of this month.

Now here's a thought. I have five phones on my 700 minute plan. One line has a full round of vision, txting and insurance plus I have a teacher discout, so my ending bill becomes about 200 a month. Would calling them affect my bill much in a positive way?

Go to your local Sprint store and pick up a card from one of the sales people. Ask them to write a upgrade price for one of the phones on their card or something like that so you know who to talk to if you decide to get a new phone (or some other line just to get their card). Their email addy is on the card.
