VZW Q9M - Phone hung at boot splash but I need to get access to pim.vol

I've got a Verizon Wireless Q9M that's hung at the boot splash screen. I can manually enter bootloader mode and the hard reset functions. However, before I flash anything or hard reset anything, I need to try to get access to the file system to copy the pim.vol file.

I've tried PK2 Commander and some other utilities without success, although they can see the phone. Can anyone provide any assistance on the best way to access the file system?

Thanks,
Nate
