Motorola q carrier cabs

I flashed my VZW q (regular) with a generic flash. I backed the registry up from vzw phone, restored it to a generic phone and installed the verizon carrier cab and i still cannot access the internet. When i flash the q with vzw firmware all is well again, but when i flash back to generic and do the fixes, only text and voice works. Can anyone give me some info please?
