So What Works With The Q?

I am too lazy to go onto Qusers.com to read but what can I install from here onto my Q?

I tried City ID last night and it was horrible ..

So I removed it from my Q

I found some nice free stuff.

Here is a list from Qusers:
http://www.qusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1639

Automatic Keylock: Highly configurable device lock that will lock the device every time the screen shuts off (or you can set it for interval). You can even set it so that it won't engage on certain profiles or while charging. Simply brilliant.

Candelight: Toggle the screen light from full to half. Saves battery life at night.

Don't Forget: sets up reoccurring alarms for missed calls, sms, email, alarms, etc. Set the time and number of repeats as well as .wav file. Can also disable for certain profiles (e.g. Silent) and can even switch a profile for you.

SKTools Lite Keep your Q clean and problem free

Octro: Gtalk, AIM, ICQ and Google VOIP

Beersoft Battery Monitor
: Haven't tried it yet but it supposedly calculates remaining battery time.

Yup.

Not sure if I'm going to keep it, I haven't even activated it yet.

It has it's pros and cons certainly. Luckily I have 30 days. Here's how it looks now...

To add:

PhoneAlarm: automates switching of profiles and has neat home screen plugin (here's my homescreen)

Facade: Show multiple calendar entries on home screen (as opposed to only one)

Styletap: Run Bike or Die on your Q I guess it's good for other Palm apps like Kinoma

Newsbreak: For RSS, homescreen plugin available

Sling, Resco Exp,Tube for subway maps, Sprite Backup for backups, Mortscript for Scripting, Java for gmaps & gmail & other etcs

Ae Buttons Plus: Still a great task switcher!

I was using PTVL for my Treo 700wx and it added Scrubs to my calander and repeats itselft. When I re-synced to Outlook it just added it back in...

PTVL supposedly does work for SP but I have to try it.

Question about phone alarm,
I had it on my PPC-6700 and it worked great. I downloaded the smartphone addition to my Q, but the reminder alarms are not working. Any special tricks to get it to function properly?

Actually, not to discourage you from using PA as I'm a big fan myself and thing Bruce is a great developer, on the smartphone I found less of a need for it (plus it's still a little buggy being in it's early stages).

You can get a free program called Don't Forget which basically reminds you of missed SMS, email, VM, etc and is configurable for amount of repeats. It can even be disabled for the Silent profile.

It is not as fancy nor as configurable as phone alarm but for basic repeating of alarms it's great.

Combine that with Profile Switcher ($4.95) and a Homescreen with the counters and you have about 80% of PhoneAlarm.
