Droid ringtones

Is it just me? Can't seem to be able to figure out how to set individual ringtones on my Droid

Go into the contacts, click on the person you you want to set a personalized tone for, then once their contact info opens press the menu button, then select options, and that's where you can set a personalized ringtone. If you want to set different sounds for calls and SMS for each person then you'll need a program called "Ringo".

That's absolutely wonderful!! Mind throwing the stock notification "Voila" on there? I can't seem to find it. And I'm not nearly tech enough to make it happen.

There's also a neat little free app called Ringdroid that will let you create a ringtone from any mp3, and any part of an mp3 you have stored on your Droid. It can also be used to create notification or alarm.

Do any of the apps allow you to set a different alert for sms and email? I don't need a different alert for each contact, but I would like to know without looking if it's an email or text I'm receiving.

You can actually set different alerts for SMS, your Gmail accounts and your Internet Email accounts. Go to the individual app, i.e. your Gmail accounts, and hit the menu button and go into settings. Dig around in there and you'll find it. I have a different alert for SMS, gmail and email.
