17,000 apps already
The Android App Market continues to grow exponentially! About a month ago there were reported to be approximately 10,000 apps in the market. As of Today there are 16,896 apps according to the download chart pictured below. Not sure how credible the source is, but regardless, Android is growing by leaps and bounds and seems to be doing extremely well in attracting developers to the OS

ya but the game developers are leaving android because the market is not organized enough and nobody is making a great amount of sales like they are on the iphone..google needs to clean it up because i really want those nice 3d games
