Re: hard/soft cases

If your really worried about your phone, just pay the extra 6$ a month for insurance. So any thing does happen your covered. A case really only stops small visual scratches (which the droid is really resistant to any ways.) The screen is still vulnerable to impact forces no matter what, and that's probably the weakest part of the phone overall.

As for scratches unless you forcefully try to scratch it nothings going to happen. When I broke my 1st time it bounced 5xs, and the body is still flawless, only problem is It hit flat on the screen on the last bounce and finished the screen.

Insurance replaced my phone over night, and even sent me a retail package so I got extra goodies for the insurance deductible.

Extra goodies like a USB cable and charger? Sorry, I'm still a little upset that VZW doesn't really include much of anything with their phones.
