so in other words, if i were o take my Xv6800 and USB cable connec it to my laptop i can use my phone as a "wireless modem" for internet for my laptop?

On the 6800, download and install the internet connection sharing cab. I imagine it works - works on the 6900 and 6975

What list of update? And you mean hardware-wise or software-wise?

Does it include a quick way to close apps and enabling multi-touch functions found on the Milestone? Where is this list?

That's strange, it connects fine to my home network which is hidden. There's no option to tell the phone that your network is hidden, but if you add it as a profile then it will just connect when in range like normal.
