Possible to remove clock and battery from Taskbar?

I'm curious if anyone knows how to remove the clock and battery icon from the taskbar. I have managed to remove the "AM/PM" on the 12 hour clock, but would rather just get rid of both of these altogether.

((Any information or brainstorming is appreciated and I do use the Thank You button liberally.))

Re: Possible to remove clock and battery from Taskbar?

When I was rooted I used MM black mod and made the taskbar black. The clock was still their but it was subdued. I cant remember where I got it from but it had a list of colors to choose from to match the wall paper. I believe it also had a mod to change the clock color. The battery and signal bars were still present. I'll search around to see if I can find it. I think I still have it on my computer. PM me your email and I'll send it. Since I'm not rooted anymore I had to get rid of it.

I saw someone that didn't have the clock and battery on the taskbar in the Hero forum. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...=90411&page=39

I don't think he actually removed it though, just installed a white task-bar and I guess white fonts that covered it up...I am sure I am wrong as to the actual steps but you can check it out and see if you can do the same for the Droid I know the first few posts on the link talk about it a little, not to in-depth though.

Re: Possible to remove clock and battery from Taskbar?

Thanks both of you. I'm familiar with changing the color to match the color of the taskbar. I'm looking to completely remove the clock and battery from the task bar to free up room and move the signal meter all the way to the right.

I've searched quite a bit but still haven't found out how.

I've been looking to do this as well. You may want to try looking over at SDX. Someone came up with way to remove it on the moment but you need to install a theme. No way to remove it if you are still using the stock theme:
