Re: adb shell? what is that?

ADB is the Android Debug Bridge and is found in the Android SDK. Little more explanation here: http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=ADB Commands are explained here as well such as adb shell.

This is run from your computer, PC or Mac, in terminal or the command prompt. It is used to do things on your device from your computer.

No.
No. You don't mount the SDcard to run these commands. You have to adb in to the phone shell. I'm not as familiar with doing this in Mac since I don't own one but you will perform similar commands (if not the exact same ones) to the linux ones in terminal.

Re: adb shell? what is that?

No, you don't need to be in recovery. Just connect to your Mac and you should be able to use adb. As long as your phone is recognized anyway.

Computer should recognize it. As, in you can see it in device manager (I know, Windows thing but it should be similar in Mac).

I think it recognized it. Now do i just open terminal and type the commands or do i have to do something in the sdk?

Re: adb shell? what is that?

You need to cd to the tools folder for the sdk. Then run the commands.
